Bobacksgården is an old, former bakery that was moved to the church meadow in Bygdeå. Old rustic objects and restored wall paintings are amongst the attractions here.
“The Bakery”, as it was then known, was in a rather dilapidated state when it was dismantled and set up on the church meadow in 1953. Following copies made by curator Evert Larsson, the old wall paintings were returned to their original state. New walls with open-hearth fires were then put up and furniture was donated by village residents. Over the years, roof and wooden roof holders have been replaced a couple of times. The wall paintings were restored in 1995 – 96 by Britta Kvarnbrink-Isberg. Voluntary work and municipal grants have taken care of the homestead’s maintenance. Bobacksgården is kept open throughout the summer. Every year, the visitors’ book witnesses many admirers from near and far.
